Counseling for adults, couples, families, and difficult seasons
John Stevens, MA, LPC-S, BC-TMH
Wisdom for hard seasons and practical help for what comes next.
A marriage in crisis, a painful loss, trauma, addiction, or questions about God can unsettle every part of life. Some seasons test everything you thought you knew.
You may be trying to hold a family together, make sense of suffering, break an addictive pattern, or decide what faithfulness looks like in a complicated situation. Advice from friends may help for a moment, but the underlying issue remains.
John understands both the spiritual and practical weight of these seasons. After more than 20 years as a senior pastor and many years as a professional counselor, he is comfortable with difficult questions and does not need clients to clean up their story before bringing it into the room.
Experience, challenge, and a sense of humor
John helps clients look beneath behavior to the beliefs, wounds, needs, and values driving it. Sessions are laid back and human, but they are also purposeful. He uses humor to create room to breathe while still challenging clients to make honest, values aligned changes.
His work may draw from EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method couples work, and solution focused interventions. The approach is shaped around the problem, the relationship, and the goals you bring.
