Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you visit stillwaterscounselors.com. It is separate from our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we handle protected health information for people who become clients. If you are a client or are becoming one, that document is the one that governs your health information.

What this website collects

Very little, and nothing that identifies you.

We use a privacy-focused analytics tool called Plausible to understand which pages people visit and how they found us. It does not use cookies. It does not store IP addresses. It does not follow you across other websites or build a profile of you. What we see is aggregate: how many people visited a page, which page they came from, what kind of device they used.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, remarketing tags, session recording, or heat mapping tools of any kind. We made that choice deliberately. People visit a counseling website at difficult moments, and what you read here is not something we want following you around the internet.

Requesting an appointment

The appointment request form on our contact page is provided by SimplePractice, the electronic health record system our practice uses. When you submit that form, the information goes directly to SimplePractice, not to this website. This website does not store it, and we do not have a database of form submissions.

SimplePractice is a HIPAA-compliant platform and we have a business associate agreement with them. Their handling of your information is governed by that agreement and by their own privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Our site links out to places like Google Maps and our Google Business Profile. Once you follow a link away from our site, that destination's privacy practices apply, not ours.

Email and text

If you email or text us, please know that ordinary email and text messaging are not secure. We will respond, and we are glad to use them for scheduling questions, but we ask that you not send clinical details, health history, or anything you would not want read by someone other than us. If you need to share something sensitive, call us at 601-707-5550 and we will find a secure way.

Children

This website is not directed at children. We provide counseling for children and teens, but the website is written for the adults who arrange that care.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
